Ave's 9 Month

Well we finally got Avery into the doctor for his 9 month check up, he was 10 1/2 months, just a little late! He weighed in at 21# and 28 1/2 inches long. He was in the 50% for both and 25-50% for head size. Everything looked great! Then he got his polio and Hepatitis B shot. It took him a minute to realize what happened but then he let out a blood curdling scream with real tears. Poor guy...he's never gonna want to go back.

The next day I noticed he was feeling quite hot. Soooooo..I called the nurse and told him he had a fever of 101.5. She said not to be worried but to keep an eye on it and call if it gets worse. Soooo...that night at 11:30 I went to check on him. He was poopy and HOT. I changed his diaper and took his temp. It was 102.5. Jeremy called the doc and they said the shots should not have caused his fever and to bring him to the dr. in the morning.

All in all, it ended up being roseola. Nothing too serious but not comfortable for the Ave man who has to live with a fever on and off for a few days. And then possibly getting an uncomfortable rash we can't do anything to relieve.

The little guy is getting so big. He now eats most any adult food and it is no biggie for him to polish off 3 pancakes, a banana, and a yogurt for breakfast. I don't know what we'll do when he's a teen if this keeps up! He is starting to talk a little too. His words so far are dada, mama, hi, idie(for Heidi, I don't know?), baba, ahhhh, and a few other sounds. He loves to clap and lift his hands up in the air for soooo big. Open mouth kisses are a favorite of his too.

As for the physical aspect, he is moving around like crazy. In the last month, he has started crawling only on all 4's whereas before it was half crawl, half pull. He pulls up to stand with no trouble, goes up stairs, bangs on things, and walks when holding onto something that he can push. He loves the water and splashing in it as well as balls. He gets a kick out of Murphy chasing the ball in the backyard.

It is so fun to watch him interact with his sister as well as learning new skills. I can't believe he is almost 1! Time seems to stand still but on the other hand it flies!

Messy kids

It is no surprise that my kids like to eat. They definately take after mom and dad. Check out the pics from our latest spaghetti dinner.
