Ughhh...so after living in pain for two days and my tooth constantly getting worse, I decided to finally go to the dentist. Maybe it was not being able to eat anything, maybe it was the fact the the left side of my face was throbbing...who knows. I feel like I am always there! Anyway,
long story short...I have an infection and need to get part of my root canal done again. Luckily, it won't be as extensive as alot of the hard work is already done, but it's a root canal none the less.
Sooo...wish me luck as I live on Motrin and amoxicillin for the next two weeks.

Baking
Today was a rather uneventful day. This morning the kids spent a few hours at a friends house while I tried to get a few things done. I managed to go to Meijers for a few things and put the groceries away before I had to go and pick them back up.
Avery spent most of his afternoon laying on his big blanket on his belly, trying to get all his toys. He must have been really working hard because he took a 3 hour nap in addition to his morning 2 hour nap. That doesn't usually happen. I usually manage to only get one good nap in a day. I will take it!
Sophie spent the afternoon making cookies and making pictures with some stickers she had forgotten about. She really wanted to make sugar cookies because she LOVES cutting out the shapes with her cookie cutters and putting frosting and all the fixins on them. But....I did not have enough butter so after a 20 minute crying spell of wanting sugar cookies and using her cookie cutters, we compromised on Monster cookies. Which I think won her over because they m&m's in them as well as chocolate chips. She put on an apron and started measuring. When I asked how everything was going as she was having trouble getting out the brown sugar, she said, "everything is just fine."
All in all, we should have waited and done sugar cookies. Those Paula Deen monster cookies didn't really turn out.

What's New
Hmmm...what's new with the Water family? Well, we are finally getting our house painted! After waiting and waiting for the painter we planned on using to call us back (and him never doing so) we went with someone else and he was able to start the next week. It is supposed to take about 3 weeks. We plan on painting the kitchen a dark red or merlot, the dining room a light yellow, the living room a tan, the hallways and foyer an ivory, and our bedroom a bluish gray. We are very excited to finally have some color in our home and are looking forward to seeing the finished project.
The next projects will hopefully be finishing the basement (we need somewhere for all those toys) and landscaping the front and back yard in the spring. Sophie has started taking swim class at the YMCA which we recently joined. She was very scared at first because the water was over her head, but we brought her anyway. Needless to say, she was fine. Grinnning and waving at us the whole time. Avery has started rolling over. In fact, we can't keep him on his back. This has been helping him sleep better too, which is always a plus in my book! I have a feeling he will be an early walker. Jeremy and I have joined the Y as well and I have been going almost every day, it helps that I have several friends who also belong to the same chapter. One of these days my pants will fit again!

Teething and Crawling
February 10th, 2008
Avery has been changing like crazy! He has just gotten his bottom two teeth as of Sunday, Feb 10th. He had been drooling like crazy for the 2 months prior so now he has something to finally show for it. He got them about the same time that Sophie got hers. Also, he has been getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth. He will be crawling before we know it. I am trying to teach Sophie to keep her stuff out of reach to prepare for when he is on the move. Also, he has been doing baby push ups. He pushes himself up on his arms and balances on his toes. Just like doing plank position in yoga. He is our strong little man! He has also discovered his most intimate parts as of today. Jeremy changed him this evening and he went right for the family jewels. Boys will be boys I guess.

Schools back in session
Today was Sophie's first day back to preschool after winter break. She was excited to see her friends again and mom was excited to have a little break! In the afternoon, she spent her time making "crafts". She has a couple of these foamies kits that she puts together. Today she made a castle and a carousel.
Avery was in a terrific mood today. Full of smiles and laughs. He wants to move like crazy. I put him on his blanket and within minutes he was across the living room. He isn't quite crawling yet but he lunges himself forward and gets to where he wants to go. He is quite content playing with his toys now that he can reach them. He layed on the floor with a fuzzy scarf for about 5 minutes. Just snuggling with it, too cute! He also loves the pop up toys. He pushes on the little doors to close them and then tries to open them up, but can't quite figure that part out yet.
