First day of school- 1st grade
Sophie got up in a great mood at 7:15 this morning. Got dressed, brushed hair and teeth, ate breakfast and was a nice sis to her brother. Let's hope every morning goes like this! She was so excited to start first grade but asked several times where to line up and wanted to know where her lunch box was supposed to go. It should be a good year! Her teacher Ms. McAuliff is pregnant so won't be there part of the time but we have heard nothing but great things about her! Here are so pictures from the morning. I can't wait to hear how it went...
Random Summer Fun
To end the summer we did lots of things around town. We went to Spencer Beach with our neighbors, which is about 20 minutes from our house. We also went raspberry picking, went to the Warren water park, the Howell nature center, and just had fun around the neighborhood. Avery is talking like you wouldn't believe and is putting together sentences with 2-4 words. He loves to copy his big sis (which isn't ALWAYS a good thing) and has started singing along to and requesting songs when we are in the car. He has also started the terrible twos with the tantrums that come with it. Should be an interesting year!
A new baby is born...no not ours!
The week after my walk, my sister Heidi, had her baby. Liam David Lietz was born to Brandon and Heidi, and his big brother Ollie! We went there that week to meet him. Sophie was very excited about the birth. He is a handsome lil guy with lots of dark hair. Avery loved holding him as well and kept saying, "baby leem" and giving him kisses on his head. Adorable! Heidi and Brandon are doing great and adjusting to life as a family of four.
What they did while I was away...
While I was walking the 3 Day, Jeremy and the kids were having all kinds of fun. The first night I talked to them, Jeremy said, I am so tired. I just cleaned the kitchen and I don't even want to use it to make dinner. It was good for him I think to see how much work goes into taking care of the kids, house, etc... They did have fun though! When they were not out cheering me and the other walkers on with stickers and spray bottles, they had a tea party for 2 of Sophie's friends(check out the sandwiches), went to the RenCen and played in the sprinklers, and played on Sophie's schools new playground.
The Breast Cancer 3 Day!
This August, during the hottest weekend of the summer, I walked in the Breast Cancer 3 Day! 60 Miles in 3 days! It was challenging, inspiring, hot, exhausting, exhilirating, among many other things. I met a new friend and challenged myself. I am happy to say that I finished all 60 miles which was my goal and helped find a cure to breast cancer.
