First Impressions Museum, Lansing

Checking out the pulley system.

Arrghhh

Splashing away

Inside the bubble.

Bubble time.

Last week we met Heidi, Brandon, and Ollie in Lansing for the day. We ate lunch at Clara's, which is a restaurant that was made from an old train station. We even got to see a train go by.

Then we went to First Impressions Hands On museum with the kids. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Sophie loved making different activities at all the booths, a braille bookmark, scratch and sniff painting, and a few other "science" activities. Avery loved the bubbles, water tables, and Lil Kids room. He had fun making silly faces and going up and down the slides. I think Ollie's favorite was the bubbles. Here are some pictures from our day.

Daddy Daughter Dance - Feb 2009

Sophie and Jeremy had so much fun at the daddy-daughter dance. Each girl got a wrist corsage and their picture taken. There was also a DJ, snack and punch table, and lots of fancy decorations which Sophie wanted to bring home!

Avery's New Words

Avery seems to be gaining new words every day! His newest ones are hi, as he waves and says hi to EVERYONE!, apple, blu for blueberries or any other berry for that matter. I think they may be his favorite food. When asked if he is stinky, he grabs the front of this diaper. He also thinks its funny to pass gas, something I think he may have gotten from his big sis or dad! Boys will be boys I guess. He loves being outside and stepping on pieces of snow to squish it. Also, he thinks he is so cool when we drop off Sophie at school. He stands right up with all the big kids, checking them out and smiling.

Sophie is doing well. Still enjoys school and is learning so much. She got a great report card and is right at her grade level in all the areas. Although Jeremy and I think she is higher in some:) We're allowed right? She is in a sports class which she loves and takes swimming as well. She just signed up for soccer that starts in April, so we'll see how that goes. So far, she knows nobody on her team.

Holiday Pics

My Shiner

Bad pics I know, these actually don't make my eye look so bad!

The fun never ends...

After Christmas I was sick, lasted about a week and a half. Coughing, headache, body aches, your basic flu symptoms. Of course this came during the break that I had hoped to get several things accomplished. Then it was time to visit friends in Chicago. After a 5 hour trip there, our friend came out to help us carry things up to their place. He picked Sophie up to say hello and swung her around. It just so happened that this was the time I walked to the back of the car to help unload. Wham...I got hit in the eye with Sophie's head. Wow...did that hurt! I have a nice shiner to show for it. Pictures will be forthcoming!

We are now back home, Sophie was excited to be back at school. Two days into it and she wakes up with an eye that is goopy and stuck closed. She says it itches and hurts so to the doctor's office we go. All is well, she stays home from school. The next day it is back to school. She comes home crying saying her ear hurts, etc... Now she said her throat and ears hurt before but the doc looked and said they were fine. Soooo...back to the after hours clinic we go. Sure enough, and ear infection. Let's hope this is it for awhile. I need some sleep!
